The studio is a vibrant community filled to the brim with all different skill levels, personalities, and valuable traits. This sense of diversity makes coming to class a unique experience every day, and we’re so thankful for everyone who trains with us!

If you’re an aerialist or a pole dancer, you’ve probably trained with some of these personalities. While this list is not at all exhaustive, which one do you identify with the most?

  1. The Always-in-the-Studio

You see this person in every single class—it’s like they live at the studio! They know every instructor and fellow classmate, and are always a friendly, recognizable face. They are constantly training and seemingly have an endless supply of energy that keeps them going and going and going and going and going…

  1. The Complainer

We’ve all been there…no shade! Sometimes you just don’t like a move and a move just doesn’t like you. This person is never shy announcing their distaste for a move, a combo, or the day itself. They always say what everyone’s thinking, and sometimes they just need a little motivation and inspiration from their fellow classmates. But once they achieve their nemesis move? They’re the most excited person in the room!

  1. The Bruiser

There’s always someone in class whose skin is basically a banana peel. They show up to every session covered head to toe in bruises from their previous training, basically wearing them like a badge of honor. Plus, they’ve always got a perfectly-rehearsed explanation for non-aerialists when they ask what happened…

  1. The One-and-Done

Though they may deny it every time, this person always seems to get the move on the first try! All it takes is a quick example from the instructor, and they’re up, up, and away. Bonus points if they demo moves for the instructor, too! Don’t be surprised if this person was a former gymnast or dancer.

  1. The Sweaty One

This person can’t bring enough grip aid to class! They have a whole sequence and ritual before they begin their training, and because they know what it’s like to slip and slide all over their apparatus, they’ve created the perfect combination of grip aids and will always have some for fellow classmates to borrow.

  1. The Motivator

The motivator is always cheering on their fellow classmates and celebrating their wins! They come in with a positive attitude and an infectious work ethic that is hard to ignore. Class is always going to be a good time with them around, and they inspire those around them with motivating anecdotes and a good ol’fashioned “you can do it!”

Do any of these sound like you?
