All bodies. All ages. All the time.

That’s how we operate, and that’s the spirit of the pole and aerial community!

We hear so often that prospective students shy away from trying their first introductory pole dance or aerial arts series because they’re afraid they’re “too old” to try something new or express themselves in a new way.

This is unfortunately a common thought process when pursuing any new passion as an adult.

And we’re here to tell you that there is NO age limit to flying with us!

"At our studio, we see students begin their pole and aerial journey in their teens, their twenties, and well into their fifties and sixties. Age has never been the measure of artistry. What matters is curiosity, willingness to learn, and the joy of expressing yourself through movement. The diversity of our student body—whether in age, background, body type, or life experience—enriches every class. You are never ‘too old’ to begin. The only limitation is the story you tell yourself before you try." – Tina Moran, Studio Owner

There should never be an age limit to artistic movement, expressing yourself, and finding a unique flow. You’ll be amazed what you can accomplish if you trust your body and allow yourself to enjoy everything it has to offer!

Here are some perks to starting pole or aerials at any age, from your 20s and 30s into your 40s, 50s, and 60s+:

Experience a fun and unique way to move your body and engage muscles that you might not work otherwise.

Movement isn’t age specific—in fact, it’s even more important to move your body the older you get! Aerial arts and pole dance are great ways to stay active in both body and spirit.

Take the opportunity to tap into your creativity and express yourself outside of your career and home life.

The older we get, the easier it is to lose touch of the things that bring us joy. Creating space to explore your artistry is the perfect way to honor yourself and set aside some time for YOU and you alone!

Establish a deeper connection with your body by experiencing the potential of what it can accomplish.

Bodies change, that’s a fact of life. But finding a routine in movement helps you stay connected, understand your baseline, and set goals for yourself. Once you see what you’re capable of, you can begin building a healthy and happy relationship with your body in every stage!

Follow your dreams, seize the moment, and never wonder “what if?”

It sounds cliche, but there’s nothing worse than yearning for what could have been. Saying “yes” and getting started proves to you and to others that the only thing stopping you from achieving your goals is…you. And you owe it to yourself to try!

Inspire other people to chase their dreams at any age. There is so much life to live—so live it!

Lead by example! The more people see the diversity of pole dancers and aerial artists, the more they’ll be willing to try it themselves.

Never accept “you’re too old” as an excuse for anything again.

This one speaks for itself!

At Luna Aerial Dance & Performing Arts, we’re ready to accept you as you are—right here, right now. Sign up for an introductory series in pole dance or aerial arts in Frederick, MD today!
