FAQs

Are your classes offered in a membership or drop-in format?

We suggest that most students begin their journey with a membership. Establishing a consistent weekly or twice-weekly practice will create a solid foundation for future success. However, a drop-in approach may be more suitable for those with special circumstances.

Ultimately, it's your journey. Reach out to us, and we'll find the best path for you.

What should I wear to my first class?

The most important thing is to wear what makes you feel good—whatever "good" means to you. However, to protect our equipment, please remove any jewelry or watches before class.

To protect your body and make your first skills easier, we recommend the following:

  • Aerials:

    • a top that will cover your armpits and midsection and can be tucked in,

    • bottoms that will cover the back of your knees.

  • Pole:

    • a top that will leave your armpits exposed,

    • bottoms that leave some real estate on your inner thigh exposure (we know, it sounds weird, but it will help you hold some of your first poses)

What should I bring to my first class?

Bring yourself, just as you are.

Snacks and light refreshments are available in the lobby, free of charge. While we provide cups, we recommend bringing your own water bottle.

Consider bringing a device for recording or taking photos (a cellphone, tablet, etc.). Even if you don't plan to share them, reviewing photos during and after class can be very valuable.

Students may also find it helpful to bring a notebook or journal for notes and reflections.

Pole students should bring a rag or washcloth to clean their pole during class. If you forget, no worries—we sell them for $5.

Do you offer Private Lessons?

Private lessons are typically reserved for our regular active membership students or special one-off circumstances. Our primary focus is on our community, so we strongly encourage new students to begin with a group classes.

It's not as intimidating as it might seem—everyone in class is more focused on their own progress than on you. Our community is built on encouragement, cheerleading, and support, so there's no need to worry about competition or cattiness in the classroom.

Are there performance and competition opportunities?

Yes. Absolutely. Performance opportunities are made available to students beginning at Level 2.

We offer studio recitals, along with special classes and packages to prepare. We also are proud to take part in public outreach performances throughout the Frederick community and often open these performances up to our student base.

Luna is extremely active in the pole competition circuit, specifically the Pole Sport Organization (but we like to participate in others, too!).
