FAQs

Are your classes offered in a membership or drop-in format?

Students are strongly encouraged to start their journey with a membership. Establishing a consistent weekly or twice-weekly routine creates the structure and support necessary for meaningful and lasting progress. Introductory class packs are available to help you discover your passion and find the best fit for your ongoing journey.

For unique circumstances or specific needs, please reach out directly. Guidance is available to help determine the most effective path for your personal goals.

What should I wear to my first class?

The most important thing is to wear what makes you feel good—whatever "good" means to you. However, to protect our equipment, please remove any jewelry or watches before class.

To protect your body and make your first skills easier, we recommend the following:

  • Aerials:

    • a top that will cover your armpits and midsection and can be tucked in,

    • bottoms that will cover the back of your knees.

  • Pole:

    • a top that will leave your armpits exposed,

    • bottoms that leave some real estate on your inner thigh exposure (we know, it sounds weird, but it will help you hold some of your first poses)

What should I bring to my first class?

Bring yourself, just as you are.

Snacks and light refreshments are available in the lobby, free of charge. While we provide cups, we recommend bringing your own water bottle.

Consider bringing a device for recording or taking photos (a cellphone, tablet, etc.). Even if you don't plan to share them, reviewing photos during and after class can be very valuable.

Students may also find it helpful to bring a notebook or journal for notes and reflections.

Pole students should bring a rag or washcloth to clean their pole during class. If you forget, no worries—we sell them for $5.

Do you offer Private Lessons?

Private lessons are typically reserved for active membership students or unique circumstances. New students are strongly encouraged to start with group classes, providing an excellent opportunity to become part of an uplifting and supportive community.

Group classes are welcoming and less intimidating than they might initially appear—students are primarily focused on their own growth and achievements. The classroom environment thrives on encouragement, mutual support, and positivity, ensuring an experience free from competition or judgment.

Are there performance and competition opportunities?

Yes, absolutely! Performance opportunities are available to students beginning at Level 2.

Studio recitals are offered, along with special classes and packages designed specifically to prepare students for these performances. Additionally, Luna proudly participates in public outreach performances throughout the Frederick community, frequently opening these opportunities to students.

Luna remains extremely active in the pole competition circuit, particularly within the Pole Sport Organization, though participation extends to other competitions as well.
